The Goldworks operates the Matrix 3D CAD design software and a Revo 540 CAM milling machine. We have compiled a gallery of all the 3D designs created by the talented staff at The Goldworks. There are many different styles to view, from rings, bracelets, earrings and other forms of jewellery. 3D design opens up many doors in jewellery design. One of the greatest advantages is the ability to view the finished piece even before production has begun. We can design the piece and show you the rendered image and then begin the actual manufacturing of the piece. Throughout the gallery we have illustrated the rendered design as well as the finished piece. The Goldworks has a Rofin Laser welder. It is an exceptional piece of equipment, capable of performing numerous tasks that would normally be impossible to do with a torch. It is best suited for working on hard to do repairs that might involve heat sensitive stones or material, and is exceptional with platinum. We offer a complete repair service on all forms of jewellery, and that service has been greatly enhanced with the laser. One of the items the laser is great for is eyeglass frame repairs. We do offer eyeglass repair service, but due to the fact that it is a secondary service to our jewellery repair, we can’t offer on the spot repair service for eyeglasses.
The Goldworks Ltd. has recently acquired one of the largest selections of Ammolite gemstones in Southern Alberta. We have hundreds of fine natural abstract stones that are cut and prepared to perfection. There are no additives or fillers used on any of the natural stones, and the shell has a beautiful high polish on every stone. The edges are nicely beveled and polished. The naturals are all backed with a high density basonite and trimmed to a nice thin profile that makes them much more stable and easier for a goldsmith to set and work with. Cutting and preparation on the material is second to none. We also have a hundreds of triplets in numerous shapes and sizes.
